Fluffy Floofy

Description

Your floof just finished surgery and you are worried that they hurt themselves? Elizabeth protection cone is what you need ❗️

Pets after surgery tend to chew or lick at their stitches or wounds. It is not ideal for recovery. Having a Elizabeth protection collar on prevents them to irritate their wound and foster recovery.

To ensure your floof won’t get off the Elizabeth cone, a pair of magnet is inserted in the end of the cone. Since the magnet is metal, your floof won’t be able to chew through it and pose safety risks.

The Elizabeth cone is made of double layers of fleece. To ensure the chinchilla wouldn’t be chewing on the edge of the fleece, I experimented with different methods of sewing. As a result, all the items sold in my store are seamless and you won’t find any edge. 🥰

Why is seamless so important❓ This is because it may pose risks to chinchillas. If seams are accidentally exposed, the chinchilla may trip over the thread and get hurt. It is not something we would like to see. Many chinchillas have to undergo amputation surgery for this particular reason.

The above photo may seem that the cone is made to wrap around the belly but it is not. If you purchase this, the actual cone you receive would wrap around the chin’s neck. The above photo is simply for demonstration purposes (I try not to upset my chin model by making him a special one so he feels comfortable when I take photo of him 🤣)

If you know about rodents, you have likely heard about them getting to know about the world by chewing things. More so than any other rodents, chinchillas are prone to chew everything they see. This is why most fleece product in the market is not suitable for chinchillas, including those for Guinea pigs. Most of the products for Guinea pigs, if not all are filled with foam or other materials for firmness. However, this is not safe for chinchilla. Chinchillas can decide they want to chew up their hut out of nowhere. They can suffer from bloating or something even worse if they ingest the foam. This is why we should only use anti-pill fleece inside their cage. 🙌🏻

For extra sturdiness (to compensate for the firmness lost from not being able to use other materials), I use grommet or fleece strips for most of my products. I try to keep the product in shape without putting chins at risk.

I hope your floof recover well with this Elizabeth cone. Providing safe, comfy and aesthetic accessories brings me great pleasure. 🥰🥰
